Abstract

The article presents the results of a study of the "emotional burnout syndrome" among the EMERCOM rescuers of Russia. A total of 226 rescuers were examined, which were divided into 4 groups depending on the length of their professional experience in the Arctic region (using the example of the Murmansk region) and in the Central Federal District of the Russian Federation (using the example of Voronezh). To determine the prerequisites for the formation of "burnout syndrome", we used standardized psychological methods and a questionnaire designed to collect anamnestic information about health-preserving behavior. For statistical data processing, the Mann– Whitney U-test and the Spearman rank correlation coefficient were used.

The results of the study showed that in proportion to the increase in the length of service of the rescuers in the Arctic region, the average indicator for the main phases of "burnout syndrome" (at p < 0.001) increases: "stress", "resistance" and "exhaustion". However, given the peculiarities of health-preserving behavior and the extreme climatic conditions of the Arctic region, which negatively affect the psychoemotional state and somatic health of specialists, high scores for the phases of the "burnout syndrome" cannot directly judge its formation.

Abstract

The paper presents an analysis of the results of biological feedback trainings on the course of arterial hypertension in persons with concomitant disorders of the anxiety-depressive spectrum. It was established that after conducting biological feedback trainings, a reliable improvement in the quality of life was noted on a number of scales: physical functioning, general health, emotional and psychological functioning. It was revealed that conducting biological feedback trainings when correcting arterial hypertension leads to an improvement in their quality of life. Indicators of quality of life and their positive dynamics are a reliable criterion for the effectiveness of the implementation of medical programs. Biofeedback trainings can be recommended for hypertensive patients to correct comorbid anxiety and depression and in the event of a patient's refusal of antidepressant therapy.

Abstract

At the International Institute of Human Potential Abilities (St. Petersburg) (IIHPA), a study was carried out to determine the psychological characteristics of 113 patients who attended classes on psychophysical self-regulation. They were divided into 2 groups (intra-church and extra-church believers) according to the results of the MIRVCH questionnaire "Your attitude to church sacraments and rituals". The above groups of patients demonstrated statistically significant homogeneity for all sociodemographic, anamnestic and investigated clinical characteristics.

Psychological health of the respondents was assessed using the methodology of multilevel psychodiagnostic tests (test to determine the level of stress resistance according to Yu.V. Shcherbatykh; A. Beck depression scale and the test to determine the level of anxiety by Spielberger – Khanin). It was found that the main psychological indicators in the MIRVCH patients were within the acceptable values of the tests used.

According to Yu.V. Shcherbatykh test, the psychological characteristics of intrachurch believers by “baseline stress-sympathy index”, “dynamic sensitivity to stress” scales, together with the subscales “increased response to circumstances that we cannot influence” and “the tendency to complicate things unnecessarily” are statistically significantly (p < 0.01) lower versus those of extra-church believers. Indicators of A.T. Beck depression scale and its "somatic" and "cognitive" components showed practical homogeneity among intra-church and extra-church patients (p> 0.05); expressed and severe depression prevailed among extra-church patients with a reliability of at least 91 % (p = 0.09); the levels of state and trait anxiety were significantly higher (p < 0.01) in patients from the extra-church group.

Abstract

The paper presents a study of the influence of a teenager's personality on self-destructive behavior. The author believes that the main reason for the autodestructive behavior of adolescents is the peculiarities of their personality development. In this regard, the question is raised about the inner work of the adolescent's personality, its self-consciousness in the genesis of auto-destruction, about what and how in the personality triggers the energy of self-destruction. The aim of the study is to identify the non-specific and specific contribution of the personality of adolescents in the formation of auto-destruction. A comprehensive psychological and mathematicalstatistical study was conducted on a representative sample of adolescents (n=600), which allowed us to introduce the complex personality variable Factor I as a key determinant of auto-destructive behavior. The study showed important contributions (general and specific) of psychological components of personality to the processes of self-determination of self-destruction in various life situations.

Abstract

The article discusses the possibilities of the psychophysiological approach to the assessment of cognitive functions. Diagnostics was carried out using the psychophysiological method of visocontrastometry and psychological methods. The relationship of perception, thinking process as well as the characteristics of memory and attention is discussed. The functional state of the magnocellular and parvocellular visual systems, characteristics of their interaction with cognitive functions was analyzed. The data obtained made it possible to establish that the activity of the magnocellular system is associated with working memory features and the properties of attention. Hyperactivation of the magnocellular system is accompanied by a violation of the selective attention. The contribution of magnocellular and parvocellular systems (mechanisms of global and local analysis) to the implementation of thinking processes has been discovered. Comparative analysis showed an increase in the activity of the magnocellular neural system (the mechanism of global analysis) and a decrease in the activity of the parvocellular system (the mechanism of local analysis) in the first episode of schizophrenia, and a decrease in the sensitivity (activity) of both neuronal systems in the chronic form of schizophrenia.

Abstract

This study involved 229 patients receiving rehabilitation care for a wide range of diseases of the spine and joints and the consequences of injuries. The assessment of patients 'satisfaction with medical care was carried out depending on whether questionnaires were used to increase patients' attention to positive sensations associated with massage and balneotherapy procedures (the main group) or there were no such questionnaires (the control group)

Patients were assigned to the control group (46 people) and the main group (183 people). In both groups, patients received massage and balneotherapy sessions. The average age in both groups was 62.4 ± 8.8 years. There were 73 men and 156 women in both groups. The distribution into groups was randomized using a random number generator.

All patients completed the ppe-15 questionnaire twice (before and after massage and balneotherapy), which allows assessing the level of patient satisfaction in several domains. In the main group, the difference was that patients after massage and balneotherapy were asked to fill out a specially developed questionnaire, which recorded the patient's attention to the severity of positive feelings. The questionnaires were proposed to be filled in against the background of the sensations experienced by the patients (with a high probability of positive) associated with the massage or balneotherapy procedure.

It is determined that the use of potentiating questionnaires against the background of positive impressions associated with massage and balneotherapy contributes to the growth of satisfaction with medical care, in terms of psychological aspects of functioning. According to the Kolmogorov-Smirnov criterion, the differences were significant at p < 0.0001 (Maximum difference = 0.38). However, the use of potentiating questionnaires does not lead to a statistically significant increase in patient satisfaction in terms of their awareness, does not affect assessments related to respect for the patient, does not significantly affect the physical condition and assessments related to the involvement of loved ones.

For a more direct assessment of the subjectively perceived relationship between the effect of massage and balneotherapy using questionnaires on the level of satisfaction with medical care in the institution, a randomized randomized group of 90 people (45 from the main and control groups) was formed. participants in this group answered a question about the impact of massage and balneotherapy on satisfaction with medical care in this institution. according to the statistical analysis, using a four-field table, statistically significant differences were determined between those who filled out the potentiating questionnaires (were more often satisfied with the institution) and those who did not fill out (were less often satisfied with the institution). The Chi-square test = 11.072 at p < 0.001, and the average strength of the relationship between the use of potentiating questionnaires and satisfaction with medical care in the institution was determined by the criteria of Kramer's V, Chuprov's K, φ (0.35) and Pearson's criterion (0.33).

Thus, the use of potentiating questionnaires in association with procedures that cause pleasant sensations (massage and balneotherapy) contributes to the growth of patients satisfaction with the medical care provided to them in the institution.

Abstract

The aim of the study was to assess the characteristics of eating behavior and satisfaction with the quality of life in patients with morbid obesity before and after bariatric surgery, to identify patterns of re-gaining weight in the postoperative period. The study included 35 patients (22 women and 13 men) with morbid obesity who underwent bariatric intervention at the age from 27 to 70 years. The patients were observed at the Department of Faculty Therapy and Faculty Surgery of Pavlov First Saint Petersburg State Medical University for three years after the surgery. The study used psychodiagnostic techniques and clinical scales to identify the clinical and psychological characteristics of patients: satisfaction with the quality of life (SF-36, BQL), eating behavior (DEBQ, FEQ), depression and anxiety levels (BDI).The results of the study show that the patients have persistent eating disorders. Before surgical treatment, the external (dependent on external factors) component of eating behavior prevailed; in the postoperative period, the dominance of restrictive eating behavior is observed. The results of the postoperative survey indicate an unsatisfactory perception of the quality of life, while according to the results of the preoperative survey on the psychological component of health, in comparison with the average statistical values, the subjects showed increased indicators.A close relationship was revealed between physiological and emotional hunger in patients with morbid obesity. A tendency was revealed in the absence of a desire to limit oneself in food consumption in patients differentiating hunger as physiological.

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to identify characteristics of the operational level of self-regulation that are specific for persons with personality disorders who have committed offenses. We examined 134 males accused of committing offenses, of which 70.1 % (n = 94) were persons with personality disorders. An assessment of the individual psychological characteristics of self-regulation was carried out using a set of techniques based on the principle of functional tests and questionnaires. Extranosological and nosospecific features of the operational level of self-regulation in persons with personality disorders with criminal behavior were identified. It was found that universal disorders of self-regulation in persons with criminal behavior are reduced ability to plan their activities, insufficient development of predictive abilities, intolerance to uncertainty, difficulties in analyzing situations in contradictory and perceptually difficult conditions, as well as in situations requiring voluntary control, low level socially oriented forecasting with information redundancy. Nosospecific for persons with personality disorders, selfregulation features, great impulsivity in decision-making, rigidity of cognitive control, difficulties in complex description and analysis of the situation, recognition of the emotional states of other people, to draw up a detailed prognosis, pronounced intolerance to situations of uncertainty and violation of all components of self-regulation.
